정보에 관한 지혜와 지식을 통합하고 집적하여 사람에게 유익한 테크놀로지를 탐구한다.

Web의 발전에서도 볼 수 있듯이 "IT"정보기술은 편리함과 속도향상을 위한 도구로서 인식되기 쉽습니다. 그러나 본 학과가 "정보테크놀로지"라는 명칭에 담은 생각은 사회가 보다 건전하게 발전하기 위해 활용하는 기술로서 IT에 주목하고, 신뢰성, 안전성, 쾌적함이라는 "사람에게 유익함"을 주는 기술로서 탐구하고 있다는 점입니다. 누구나 사용하기 쉽고 또한 인간과 기계, 시스템이 공생할 수 있는 사회와 기업, 가정을 실현하기 위해 본 학과에서는 인공지능과 자연언어처리 등의 소프트웨어, 테크놀로지, 로봇으로 대표되는 메카트로닉스 테크놀로지, 인간공학과 복지의 관점에서 휴먼 팩터 테크놀로지의 3개 분야를 학습하며, 새로운 이론의 발견과 현실적인 제안을 실시하고 있습니다. 교수 중에는 네트워크 기술의 1인자를 비롯하여 현장 경험자가 많으므로 실천적 지도를 받으며 학습할 수 있습니다.
