Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU) was founded in 1949 as part of Aoyama Gakuin, celebrating the 140-year anniversary of its institutional foundation in 2014. AGU has established a national reputation for the quality of its teaching and its international ambience, and is widely recognized as one of the leading private universities in Japan.

We have 10 faculties and 24 departments in our undergraduate programs, which aims to educate students with a strong sense of social responsibility and morality in order to contribute to society and today’s world. Advanced education and research will be further promoted, with our vision towards the world and the future.
We have graduate schools for each field in our undergraduate programs, together with professional graduate schools in the three fields of management, law and accountancy. Aiming at providing graduate school education that flexibly meets the needs of society, as well as providing practical and advanced education for professionals.
We are always open to international undergraduate and research students who are keen to hone their academic abilities in our wonderful learning environment, and we also provide a wide range of support measures for graduates looking to further their careers post university.
The library collection totals some 1,720,000 works publications spread between the main building at Aoyama and the Sagamihara branch library. This constitutes the lifeblood of academic study and research at Aoyama Gakuin.
