On April 15, 2025, the first Meet Up Cafe was held at the “International Commons” on the first floor of Building No. 7 on the Aoyama Campus.

This was the first Meet Up Cafe of the first semester, and for more than half of the participants it became a first experience to join in the International Commons events. At first, some students seemed a little nervous, but through self-introductions and icebreaker, the commons filled with a friendly atmosphere and lively conversation. During the free talk, the students enjoyed exchanges in English and Japanese with drinks and snacks in hand. Some of the groups had fun with playing cards, UNO, or Jenga.

The total number of the participants was about 80 students, including both AGU general students and international students. It became a wonderful opportunity for them to get to know each other.

Meet Up Cafe is an event for international students and all AGU students to interact with each other. It is conducted in both English and Japanese, so those who are not comfortable with English can easily participate. The next event is scheduled for Thursday, April 24.
