On June 7 2023, 14 students from Aoyama Gakuin University visited the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tokyo, led by the Director of International Center, Prof. Komatsu Yasuhiko.

In April, AGU had become partners with the University of Belgrade, which is the first partner school we have in Serbia. The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia had provided us with various support for starting this partnership.

The visit started with a message of greeting from Ambassador H.E. Ms. Aleksandra Kovač, and Prof. Komatsu, and the students listened to a lecture about Serbia given by the Embassy staff.

The lecture included information about the land, food, products and sites, followed by an introduction to the Serbian language.

After the lecture, tables with drinks and snacks were laid out in the middle court of the Embassy, and a time for exchange with the Embassy staffs was held.

Students enjoyed tasting snacks that used Ajvar, the traditional paprika paste in Serbia, while asking various questions to the Embassy staffs.

We are expecting this event will be the first step to further international exchanges with the Republic of Serbia.
