On Monday, July 4, 2022, Professor Komatsu Yasuhiko, Director of the International Center, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia together with Professor Kubota Yukihiko, Dean of the School of Business, Mr. Hamamoto Yoshiro, General Manager of the International Center, and Mr. Takizawa Yuga, Coordinator of the International Center, and met with Her excellency Aleksandra Kovač, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia.
On Friday, June 3, 2022, Aoyama Gakuin University hosted a lecture entitled "140th Anniversary of Friendship between Serbia and Japan," given by  Ambassador Kovač, under the auspices of the School of Business. At the same time, the School of Business Student Leaders (SBSL) also conducted sales of mućkalica, an example of Serbian cuisine.

In order to further deepen exchanges with the Republic of Serbia, the International Center requested support for the establishment of cooperative relations between AGU and Serbian universities.

Ambassador Kovač introduced in her lecture the high level of interest in Japanese language and culture in Serbia, the history of exchanges with Japan (including the translation and research of Japanese literature), and the rapid development of today's IT projects. Ambassador Kovač stated that she would like to use the 140th anniversary of the friendship between Japan and Serbia as an opportunity to deepen academic and student exchanges.
The meeting lasted for an hour, with First Counsellor Marija Perišić and local staff Tominaga Masaaki also able to attend, and was held in a cordial and warm atmosphere from beginning to the end.
Everyone present felt assured that mutual understanding through mutual visits by students will not only make exchanges between universities more vigorous, but will also contribute to the development of friendly relations between the two countries in the future.
