On December 11, 2024 (Wednesday), "Furoshiki Workshop" was held at the International Commons on the first floor of Building 7, Aoyama Campus. About 30 students, including both international students and AGU non-international students, participated in the workshop and learned about furoshiki using colorful furoshiki.

Ms. Etsuko Yamada, public relations/art director of Kyoto-based furoshiki manufacturer Musubi, was invited as the instructor. After an introduction to furoshiki, all participants tried wrapping furoshiki. The workshop was not only about wrapping things, but also about becoming multiple items, such as bags with a handle, eco-bags, short jackets, and so on.

After the workshop, some students continued to ask questions to Ms. Yamada. In such a lively atmosphere, the participants were able to learn about furoshiki, a traditional Japanese cultural tool. Each participant took home a furoshiki as a souvenir.

At the end of the event, participants enjoyed tea and snacks, having exchange with other participants and lecturers. For all students, it was a valuable experience to learn about Japanese culture through furoshiki.
