Japan eSports Union (JeSU. Chairman：Okamura Hideki) held the Japan University eSPORTS Championship (U-Champ) Finals on April 24-25, 2021, at Tokorozawa Sakura Town. The finals were held in empty stadiums and broadcast online.

Higuchi Kojiro (Faculty of Law, Department of Law, 2nd year) entered the “STREET FIGHTER V CHAMPION EDITION” championship with the handle name of “SNB|ひぐち”. With 253 schools entering , Higuchi advanced to become one of the 8 participants in the finals, where he won the championship.
As a subsidiary prize for this championship, top- ranked players earned the right to represent Japan at international tournaments , as selected by JeSU.
