In January 2021, the Institute of Intellectual Property and Social Problems (Solving Social Problems through Intellectual Properties, hereinafter referred to as "SSP-IP") of Aoyama Gakuin University, and BANDAI NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT CO., LTD. jointly launched the Study on the Possibility of Solving Social Problems using Games, incorporating the academic perspectives of SSP-IP, which is engaged in research aimed at resolving social issues using corporate intellectual property.

A start-up symposium will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
In addition to the members enrolled in SSP-IP, Katsuhiro Harada, who is a joint research member and runs the Tekken series of fighting games at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, will take part in the symposium, and discuss the prospects of the study together with the current status and issues of the gaming industry.
The event was initially scheduled for public viewing and preparations were underway. However, the event will now be held in an audience-free distribution format to combat coronavirus infection in accordance with the government's prolongation of the declaration of emergency.
