Students from Goucher College Visit AGU

CATEGORY

On June 1, 2018, Students from Goucher College visited Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU). Goucher College, located just outside of Baltimore, MD, U.S., and AGU have enjoyed a long-term and solid partnership over the years. Over twenty students from Goucher College hung out together with AGU students on campus. "There are so many students. Coming from a small community, we find AGU so busy!" one Goucher student said. Students visited Goucher Memorial Chapel, which was named after John Franklin Goucher (1845–1922), a Methodist pastor, one of the co-founders and the namesake of Goucher College, who also helped found Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan. Students then visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo's most famous Shinto shrine, about a 30 minute walk from the university. Goucher College students came to Japan as part of their "Intensive Course Abroad (Japan & Taiwan)" in which they embraced Japanese culture by visiting museums and other spots for a week.
