University of Bergamo visits AGU for cooperation talks

On November 6th, a delegation from the Università degli Studi di Bergamo (the University of Bergamo) in Italy visited Aoyama Gakuin University to explore future collaboration between the two universities. Professor Remo Morzenti Pellegrini, Rector of the University of Bergamo, led Professor Matteo Kalchschmidt, Vice-chancellor for Internationalization and International Relations and Ms. Elena Gotti, Head of Guidance and International Programs. The Italian delegates met with Professor Yoshikazu Miki, the President of AGU, Professor Tsutomu Kikuchi, the vice President for International Relations, and a representative from the AGU International Center.

The University of Bergamo was founded in 1968, and although it is young, has shown remarkable growth in the past few years thanks to both the relative youth of faculty members eager for change and the economic development in the area --the university is located north of Milan.

The university has five departments and a school including the Department of Management, Economics and Quantitative Methods, the School of Engineering, and the Department of Letters, Philosophy and Communication. These areas of teaching and research are similar to those of AGU.

Rector Pellegrini and President Miki have agreed to continue working toward the future collaboration and partnership of the two universities.
