On Friday, May 17, 2019, a Canadian student from the University of Toronto (U of T) visited the Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU) Sagamihara Campus as part of sister city activities between Sagamihara City in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan and Toronto City in Ontario Province, Canada.

U of T student Yi Yang, who won the Shinkikai-Sagamihara City Prize at the 37th Annual Ontario Japanese Speech Contest held in Toronto, visited the AGU campus in Sagamihara City and got to know locals through Japanese cultural-experience activities, exchanges with AGU students, and a homestay experience.

During his time at the Sagamihara Campus, Yang ate lunch in the university cafeteria with students who had participated in a short-term (about one month) language and culture exchange program at the U of T. He also attended a class at the AGU School of Global Studies and Collaboration, tried out the University's "Chat Room," and otherwise deepened his ties with AGU students.
