AGU Ekiden team wins four year in a row
AGU won their fourth consecutive overall title at the 94th Tokyo-Hakone University Ekiden Road Relay (Hakone Ekiden) with a record time of 10:57:39. The Aoyama Ekiden Team finished 2nd after Toyo University on the first day of the two-day relay, but on the second day they overtook Toyo during the 6th leg and won a trophy. Three out of the five runners at AGU on the second day ran for the first time in the New Year's university race. The runner for the 6th leg took back the lead getting the leg award. The runner for the 7th leg broke a new record for the leg, followed by the runner for the 8th leg who also won the leg award. The efforts of everyone brought the team another victory.
Aoyama Gakuin University would like to thank everyone who cheered and encouraged the team over exciting two days along the road as well as in front of TV and on the radio nationwide.
