At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Aoyama Gakuin School Corporation on Thursday, October 24, 2019, College of Literature (Department of History) Professor and current Aoyama Gakuin University Vice President Hiroshi Sakamoto was selected as the 19th Aoyama Gakuin University president, set to succeed 18th Aoyama Gakuin University President Yoshikazu Miki whose term ends on Sunday, December 15.

Sakamoto will serve a four-year term lasting from December 16, 2019 to December 15, 2023.
