Aoyama Gakuin Educational Policy
Aoyama Aoyama Gakuin University 's Mission
Aoyama Gakuin School Motto
"Salt of the earth" and "light of the world" are phrases spoken by the Lord Jesus, but they are more of a "declaration" than a "teaching."
In other words, Aoyama stands on the foundation of declaring, "You are an irreplaceable individual."
<The Salt of the Earth> Salt plays a role in flavoring, preventing spoilage, and purifying. The human body needs 0.7% salt, and a person cannot survive without consuming 10 to 15 grams per day. Like a subtle flavoring, the academy will produce individuals who, through inconspicuous actions, contribute to people and society, giving meaning, preventing decay, and purifying impurities.
Light, like a guiding light or a beacon, guides us and provides brightness and warmth. Furthermore, light also sterilizes and nourishes. In the same way, Aoyama Gakuin University strives to be a beacon of hope through our conspicuous actions, radiating encouragement, strength, and energy to those around us.
Both "earth" and "world" are not so much synonymous with the land or the world, but rather with "a reality without God" and "a situation that strips away human dignity." In such a world, we are made "salt" and "light" by God's grace, and those who gather at Aoyama will exert their presence as one of a kind.
