Project Overview

The AGU Future Eagle Project is a project run by our own funds, in addition to a grant from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)'s Challenging Research Program for Next-Generation Researchers. Based on our university's philosophy of "nurturing talented individuals with the wisdom and ability to discover and solve problems on their own with the right awareness based on a global perspective," we aim to nurture excellent doctoral students who have the potential to pioneer new academic fields in the future by combining existing support systems and new training support measures, with the themes of "integration of the humanities and sciences" and "internationality."

Purpose and Objectives

⚫博士後期課程（及び一貫制博士課程3年次生以上）学生による既存の枠組みにとらわれない自由で挑戦的・融合的な研究を支援すること
⚫生活費相当額を支給することで学生が研究に専念できる環境を複数年度に渡り安定的・継続的に整備すること
⚫国際性・学際性の涵養、トランスファラブルスキルの習得を含め、優秀な博士後期課程学生を多様なキャリアパスで活躍できる博士人材へと導くこと

*Behavioral characteristics that enable one to achieve excellent results, such as basic abilities, specialized knowledge, skills, and know-how in a job or role.

    Summary: A course aimed at acquiring English research paper writing skills
    Eligible participants: Students enrolled in doctoral programs at this university
    Participation fee: Free

    Event type: Online

    ▶　英語論文アブストラクト作成ワークショップ

    Summary: A course aimed at acquiring skills in writing abstracts for English research papers.
    Eligible participants: AGU Future Eagle Project Scholarship Students

    ▶　英語発表スキル講習会

    Overview: Create and present slides for research overview and progress presentations, and receive skill training from instructors
    Eligible participants: AGU Future Eagle Project Scholarship Students
    Participation fee: Free
    Date: Wednesday, February 26, 2025 9:30-17:00
    How it will be held: In person

  • Presentation training with a view to presenting at international conferences, etc. (presentation of research results and progress)

    Overview: Accommodation-based training in which participants report on their research results and progress in English
    Eligible participants: AGU Future Eagle Project Scholarship Students
    Date: Thursday, March 13th and Friday, March 14th, 2025

  • Entrepreneurship Education Academy Seminar

    Overview: Unlocking entrepreneurial potential through the mindset and fundraising methods required for entrepreneurs
    Eligible participants: Undergraduate students and doctoral students (master's and doctoral students) of this university

    Event format: Hybrid (face-to-face and online)

  • Assistant instructor system

    他分野の研究者との対話を通じて、自分の研究内容を理解してもらうことの難しさを感じてもらい、対話を通したコミュニケーション能力の涵養の機会、及び自分の研究の新しい視点や観点、社会における自分の研究の位置づけなどについて考える機会を持ってもらうことを目的に、他分野の研究科教員による副指導制度を実施しています。

English Thesis Writing Seminar

We will hold a seminar for doctoral students aimed at improving their English paper writing skills, which are essential for international academic presentations.

Ron Read (Human Academy Co., Ltd.)
He has a wealth of experience in academic circles, including as a paper writing quality evaluator for the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, and is currently an expert in academic English instruction, giving lectures and writing columns at multiple academic conferences.
