About the Research

Faculty members of Department of Integrated information technology can join the Graduate School of Intelligence and Information Studies course and continue to supervise undergraduate students of Department of Integrated information technology at the graduate school level.

It is clear that the importance of information technology in society and industry is increasing day by day, and this course is characterized by its education in more specific and high-level research themes, with the aim of producing the kind of human resources needed to meet this demand, namely, leading engineers who have innovative ideas and a wealth of knowledge and skills through advanced specialized education.

The educational objectives of the Intelligent Information Engineering course are to elucidate human intelligence and sensibility from the perspective of information, while at the same time educating students to acquire human-friendly technology, and furthermore to fully understand the functions and roles of information in society and social systems, and to develop students who can tackle the social contributions of information technology with deep insight. The overall theme of the course is the elucidation, modeling, and systematization of the phenomena that are the basis of human intelligence and the artificial systems that support its social activities.

The research area has a common foundation of human and intelligent informatics, and aims to develop advanced and flexible research areas by expanding into network and social informatics and systems and design informatics, regardless of software or hardware.

The structure of this course, like that of the faculty, takes a broad view of the applied fields of information technology and is made up of mechatronics technology, represented by robots, human factors technology from the perspective of ergonomics and welfare, and software technology, including artificial intelligence and natural language processing.
