Educational and research objectives and three policies

We would like to introduce the educational and research objectives, educational policy, and three policies of Graduate School of Cultural and Creative Studies Aoyama Gakuin University Graduate School, Department of Cultural and Creative Management.

Educational and research objectives

Department of Cultural and Creative Management aims to train talent with advanced expertise in fields such as the creation and commercialization of culture and the arts, policy planning and reconstruction from a cultural perspective in companies and organizations, and the production and management of the cultural industry.

Three Policies

  • Diploma Policy (Policy for Completion Certification and Awarding of Degrees)

    ■ Knowledge and skills
    Have acquired the abilities and skills to be a professional expert and a leader in their field of expertise.

    ■Thinking ability, judgment ability, expressive ability
    Students will have acquired logical thinking skills and sound judgment in the fields of humanities, arts, and policy management, and will possess the creative expression skills to be able to publicly share the knowledge they have acquired.

    ■ Motivation, interest, and attitude
    Based on the above knowledge and skills, they have acquired a sense of mission and responsibility that should be expected of professionals who put them into practice.

  • Curriculum Policy (Policy for creating and implementing educational courses)

    The program is structured around two layers: a group of basic subjects that teach the thinking methods and theoretical frameworks necessary for combining culture and management, and a group of core subjects that combine culture and management and foster advanced specialist skills in the fields of policy management, urban and international culture, and media art.
    The project seminar aims to develop advanced practical skills such as identifying and solving various cultural problems, conceiving ideas for cultural and artistic creation, and formulating policies and projects. It is a seminar subject in which students conduct research using a project method under the guidance of a supervisor (one supervisor and two assistant supervisors).

    Students have the basic specialized knowledge necessary for this major in related academic fields such as humanities, arts, policy science, and management.

    ■Thinking ability, judgment ability, expressive ability
    They have the basic thinking and judgment skills to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as the ability to express themselves accurately and publicly present the results of their learning and consideration.

    ■ Motivation, interest, and attitude
    Students have the desire to utilize the theoretical and practical knowledge they have acquired in this major to contribute to the future of humanity and international society as cultural leaders in their respective fields.
