We will introduce the graduation requirements and course enrollment for Department of English and American Literature.
Master's Program
Completion Requirements
Students must normally be enrolled for at least two years, acquire the required number of credits as shown in the table below (number of credits required for completion), submit a master's degree thesis or the results of research on a specific topic, and pass the review and final examination. The method of completion (master's degree thesis or the results of research on a specific topic) is to be decided by the end of the first year in consultation with the research supervisor. However, for those who have achieved outstanding research results, one year or more of enrollment will be sufficient.

Completion Requirements
Students entering the doctoral program must appoint a research supervisor, choose a research topic under his or her supervision, obtain the required credits and research guidance shown in the table below (required credits for graduation), and pass a foreign language certification exam.

Although the standard period for completing a doctoral course is three years (Article 10 of the University Regulations), it is possible to complete the course within three years if the above conditions are met. In that case, students will be required to earn the number of credits for research guidance seminars corresponding to their period of enrollment.
