On the publication of "AGU RESEARCH REPORT 2022 -Aoyama Gakuin University Research Report"

Greetings from the president
President and Director of the Integrated Research Organization Hiroshi Sakamoto

Aoyama Gakuin University University has achieved numerous results over the past 30 years with its "General Research Institute," affectionately known as "Souken," and has also established a new "General Project Research Institute" with the aim of enabling research and large-scale projects based on external funding, etc. In April 2018, the "Integrated Research Organization" was established as an organization that brings together the two and leads research across the university. We would like to report on the results of this organization for the 2022 academic year.
In addition, as a new initiative, the Institute for Innovative Technology and Social Co-Creation and the Aoyama Gakuin University Microspacecraft Research Institute will be established within the Institute for Integrated Projects in 2022, and these will be promoted as President Initiative Projects. We hope that these two projects will be successful as challenges to cutting-edge research at our university.

The role and challenges of the Integrated Research Organization

Greetings from Vice President
Vice President and Vice Director of the Integrated Research Organization Hiromasa Inatsumi

The Integrated Research Organization (hereinafter referred to as the Organization) was established for the purpose of carrying out integrated projects with a university-wide perspective on research at our university, and is now in its sixth year. The Organization is composed of the Integrated Project Research Institute, which oversees efforts funded by external funds, the Integrated Research Institute, which oversees efforts funded by competitive funds within the university, and the Liaison Center, which strengthens the research support system.
Currently, there are over 20 externally funded project research institutes, which are operated based on external funding and serve as a platform for many researchers working in interdisciplinary fields. The General Research Institute is building up a track record in nurturing researchers and working to improve the university's research system. The Liaison Center is centered on industry-government-academia collaboration, and is contributing to building the university's research foundations in order to obtain public funding. This can be said to be a steady achievement as an organization that handles the physical distance between the Aoyama Campus and Sagamihara Campus in a comprehensive and comprehensive manner from the perspective of research.
Unfortunately, perhaps due to the strong Aogaku brand, our university is weak in promoting its research capabilities. As an organization, we believe that in addition to improving our research capabilities, we need to focus more on increasing our ability to communicate.
