Saturday, December 12, 2009 Interim results report meeting

The Center for Advanced Technology Research and Development held an interim results presentation on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Sagamihara Campus. At the presentation, the interim results of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's High-Tech Research Center Development Project selected in 2007 and the externally funded project started in 2008 were presented, and the results were evaluated as follows by an evaluation committee consisting of 11 researchers from both inside and outside the university.

Evaluation points
  • All of the research is original and highly active.
  • A good balance of fundamentals, applied studies and practical application.
  • Every piece of research has the potential to lead to big industry.
Issues
  • While each individual research project is original and has produced results, we hope to see further synergy between researchers so that the results of the project as a whole will become clearer.

Although some issues were pointed out, the overall evaluation stated that each of the results was at a world-class level, and that the overall theme was very well-balanced. We will utilize the results of this evaluation in our future research, and all of us in the research project will work together to achieve even greater results.
