Message from the Director

Inheriting the progress of the Institute over the past 30 years, the Integrated Research Organization (hereafter referred to as the Organization) was established on April 1, 2018 within Aoyama Gakuin University with the purpose of conducting integrated projects from a university-wide perspective with regard to the University's research.
The OIST will build a strong framework capable of bringing innovation to the University through strengthening its governance and financial base in order to expand the research and education base on both Aoyama and Sagamihara campuses, and to promote collaboration between the University and society by developing strategic public relations and promoting social and community contributions.
The Organization consists of two research institutes, one externally funded and the other internally funded, as well as a Liaison Center, which was established on April 1, 2019. Together, I am confident that the wide range of research in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences at Aoyama Gakuin University will accelerate and produce significant results in the future.

The research implementation bodies will be the General Project Research Institute, which will in principle be operated through external funding, and the General Research Institute, which in principle will be operated through internal funding.
