We would like to introduce the educational and research objectives, diploma policy, and curriculum policy of Aoyama Gakuin University University's liberal arts education.
Educational and research objectives
The Aoyama Educational Policy states, "Aoyama 's education aims to be based on Christian faith and to develop individuals who live truthfully before God, humbly pursue the truth, and willingly fulfill their responsibilities to all people and to society with a spirit of love and service."
Aoyama Gakuin University University, as the highest institution in Aoyama 's consistent educational system, aims to cultivate character based on Christian principles, impart advanced education, and teach and research academic theory and application, thereby nurturing individuals who will serve society and contribute to the advancement of culture.
Diploma Policy (Policy for Graduation Certification and Degree Awarding)
The goal of learning according to the "The Aoyama Standard" is for all Aoyama Gakuin University graduates, regardless of which faculty or department they graduated from, to be socially recognized as having a certain level of skills and abilities, as well as a certain range of knowledge and culture, as listed below.

Students will acquire academic thinking, basic methods of research, analysis and presentation, and basic information skills to thrive in modern society.

Curriculum Policy (Policy for creating and implementing educational courses)
Due to the nature of general education, the fields covered are diverse. The curriculum is divided into nine areas, with a category for first-year education. In order to increase opportunities to come into contact with a variety of academic fields, most subjects are made compulsory electives, with the exception of some subjects related to basic skills and the university's founding spirit. Christianity-related Area (Area A)
By understanding the mission, origins, and development of Christianity, this course examines the religious, social, moral, academic, economic, political, and narrowly cultural impact and significance of Christianity in world history from a Christian perspective.

Human Understanding-Related Areas (Area B)
We learn what it means to be human through the humanities, including philosophy, ethics, psychology, education, cultural studies, art studies, literature, linguistics, and anthropology.

Social Understanding-Related Area (Area C)
Understand the mechanisms and systems that make up society, and the social issues that exist.

Nature Understanding Related Areas (Area D)
Students will understand the act of exploring natural phenomena and the resulting scientific and rational thinking and applications, and will consider from multiple perspectives the impact and changes that scientific discoveries and technological developments have on human life and society.

Historical Understanding-Related Areas (Area E)
This course aims to understand how politics, economics, law, academia, culture, language, etc. have been structured throughout history, and to deepen macro-historical insight into human history, cultural history, and natural history.

The aim is to improve skills not only in Japanese but also in English and other foreign languages.

The aim is for students to acquire basic knowledge about their own bodies and physical techniques, and to acquire the ability to enjoy sports throughout their lives and the ability to manage a healthy lifestyle.

The aim is to acquire IT (Information Technology) techniques and media literacy necessary to survive in the information society.
