My work so far

- Learning the mysterious power of words through experience
(Photo: When he was a newscaster on the BBT Ohmae Kenichi TV channel. With Professor Isao Murafuji, who is currently the Dean of the Department of Business at Kyushu University and has served on a committee related to Japan's financial restructuring, including for the government, financial institutions, business companies, and households.)

After graduating from university, I joined Nippon Broadcasting System and worked as an announcer in the programming department's production department. The world of "sound" created by radio, which has no images, is unique, and I was keenly aware of the difficulty of language and the mysterious power that language possesses. I left Nippon Broadcasting System when I got married, and while working as an English teacher at junior and senior high schools, I began researching language acquisition, including mother tongue.

After completing my master's degree in English teaching, I started working at Business Breakthrough, a company that offers an e-learning MBA program. Around 17 years ago, the only way to access the Internet was through telephone lines, but I had the opportunity to visit Bond University in Australia many times and set up a distance-learning graduate school in English. This experience opened my eyes to the field of research into new educational methods using the Internet.

This is what's interesting about my classes

-Think for yourself and experience it for yourself!

In my classes, I want students to experience the essence of being a working member of society, based on my own experiences, and to get a glimpse of society while they are still students. There are difficulties, fun, hopes, and disappointments for each student, and I want them to experience these before they leave for society.

Specifically, in classes we produce television and radio commercials, documentaries, and interview programs, and we also produce programs in English.

Message to prospective students

- Become more creative in your communication

Expressing your thoughts creatively may seem easy, but it is actually very difficult. Organizing and summarizing your thoughts and having others understand them is difficult even in your native language, but from now on, you will need the ability to express and persuade others in English, the global language. More than just grammatically correct language will be required. What exactly does that mean? I hope you will experience and learn about it at School of Global Studies and Collaboration.
