Testimonial | This book summarizes the collaborative research, which began with the Institute's research on urban and regional cultural resource exchanges and continued with activities in disaster-stricken areas after the Great East Japan Earthquake, along with the background history of disaster recovery in the Tohoku region. By comparing the workshops with students with the lifestyle improvement, crafts, housing surveys, and rural lifestyle improvement projects carried out by Kon Wajiro, Hani Motoko, and others from before the war to after the war, the book examines the significance and specific methods of reconstruction projects that respect the local culture of local people and reinforce their social capital. It is also an attempt at research to unearth the rich wisdom of disaster prevention and other topics hidden in everyday life and historical customs. |

Testimonial | Although this book is one of the "research series" of the Research Institute Project, its contents are somewhat different from general research books. The core of the contents is not "research" but "class documents," that is, practical reports of human rights-related classes that were added to the curriculum of Faculty of Law of Law at our university as the crystallization of our research, and so-called "research papers" are placed on the periphery and play a complementary role. Over the past three years, we, the project participants, have been mindful of not disconnecting "research" and "practice," that is, that research must always contribute to the development of classes that promote the personal growth of students "here and now." The structure of this book as described above well represents the characteristics of this project, and it is there that our hopes and opinions are embodied. |

Testimonial | As the term "the lost 20 years" suggests, strategies known as the Japanese model, which once worked well, are losing their effectiveness due to changes in the environment. In order to gain a more concrete understanding of the changes in the environment facing Japanese companies, this book sets out two environmental levels: the national level of Japan and the industry level. It focuses on and analyzes two aspects: the environment in which companies find themselves and their management and human resources strategies. The four industries covered are electronics, pharmaceuticals, finance, and distribution. This research book explores why and how management and human resources strategies are changing in four industries that differ in various aspects, such as the competitive environment, regulatory environment, and regional uniqueness, and captures the diverse and complex trends of strategic change. |
