Welcome to Aoyama Gakuin University
Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU) is a private university established in 1949. It has two campuses: the Aoyama Campus in Sibuya ku, Tokyo, and the Sagamihara Campus in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture. Both campuses are about 90 minutes away by train and on foot. Exchange students choose which faculty/graduate school to join based on their major and interests when applying, but with the exception of some subjects, they can take classes offered at both campuses.
Please note that "exchange students" refers to students sent from overseas partner universities that have student exchange agreements with Aoyama Gakuin University. Tuition fees are usually waived, but please check with your home university for details. If you wish to apply for an exchange program, please first contact your home university. WHY AGU?
Why AGU? Let us introduce you to the attractions of our university.
Aoyama has a long history, originating from three schools founded by missionaries from the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States in the early 1870s. Today, even amidst major changes in the times and social transitions, the school has maintained its commitment to human education based on Christian faith and has continued to forge ahead as a comprehensive school with Kindergarten Building, elementary school, middle school, high school, university and graduate school.
We offer fulfilling learning opportunities at our Aoyama Campus, located in Sibuya / Aoyama area, a cultural hub of the city, and Sagamihara Campus, which is equipped with the latest research facilities. -
