From April 2016, the “Act for Eliminating Discrimination against People with Disabilities" came into effect, and the prohibition of unjust discriminatory treatment as well as the provision of reasonable accommodation became an obligation of effort for private business operators. Furthermore, according to the Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance, since October 2018 it has been an obligation to provide reasonable accommodation in companies within Tokyo (including private business operators). At AGU, whenever there is a request from any student who needs support due to disability or illness, etc., we shall make a decision on considerations as well as create plans to enable the student to stand on the same start line as the other students, and we will then inform the faculty member in charge.
