*These are the educational and research objectives and three policies from April 2022 onwards.

Educational and research objectives

Our program cultivates talented individuals who have acquired extensive and systematic legal knowledge, the ability to apply that knowledge to real-world situations with logical and rational thinking, and the ability to come up with reasonable solutions to the complex problems that arise in modern society.

Diploma Policy (Policy for Graduation Certification and Degree Awarding)

■ Knowledge and skills
Students will acquire extensive and systematic legal knowledge and the skills to apply it to real-world situations and arrive at reasonable solutions, which they will be able to utilize in the legal profession, national and international organizations, and private companies both domestic and overseas.

■Thinking ability, judgment ability, expressive ability
Aptitude tests are required to have a sense of balance that enables them to comprehensively judge the interests of the parties involved in complex problems that arise in society from the standpoint of logic, rationality and fairness, as well as the legal thinking and judgment necessary to use the law to arrive at appropriate solutions, and the ability to express this persuasively.

■ Motivation, interest, and attitude
In daily life (for example, family life, professional life, etc.), one can act from the perspective of objective justice, while also acting from the perspective of substantive fairness that takes into consideration the positions, circumstances, and feelings of those around oneself, and with a Christian spirit of charity.

Curriculum Policy (Policy for creating and implementing educational courses)

■ Knowledge and skills
In the first year, students are given courses that provide the foundation for legal studies. In the first year, students are given courses on the philosophy, comparison, history, and issues of modern society that provide a perspective for understanding real law, which is constantly being created and evolving, rather than simply understanding created and fixed laws. From the second year, students select courses in a wide variety of legal fields based on their own interests and future plans, building on the foundation of legal studies they have built in the first year after enrollment, and build up specialized knowledge. In order to gain flexible judgment skills away from narrow-minded thinking that relies on knowledge of a specific legal field, students are given courses in both legal fields that are primarily related to business and legal fields that are primarily related to the public sector. In addition, in order to acquire skills to survive in the 21st century, where people are active globally, students are given courses on the global legal situation, such as international law and international private law, and courses on the legal systems of other countries, such as foreign law. In the third and fourth years, students are given practical learning about legal issues in seminars, such as the analysis of issues based on themes and the presentation of problems.

■Thinking ability, judgment ability, expressive ability
Based on a basic knowledge of law, students will learn about legal thinking and judgment in a variety of legal fields, and acquire practical and reliable thinking and judgment skills regarding legal methods for solving social problems. In addition, students will develop the ability to express their thoughts in writing and orally through practical and seminar courses.

■ Motivation, interest, and attitude
Through the study of law, students will practice sincerely in accordance with the spirit of Christianity. In other words, as members of the legal community responsible for realizing the "rule of law," students will challenge themselves to explore real law that goes beyond the laws enacted by the state. Furthermore, students will focus on acquiring the logic and awareness of justice that are at the heart of law, which is a technique for coexistence between oneself and others.
